Nourish School of Food is an organic cooking school in Christchurch, New Zealand. We are here to help you find the foods that will make you feel on top of the world. We are here to show you how to prepare food that is a gourmet delight as well as healthy, for you and the planet.

The usual workshop format is one of practical, interactive demonstration by Melanie Jane, an experienced chef and educator. Class sizes are limited to 5-10 so that the journey can include plenty of stops for tastings and hands on fun. If you prefer, Melanie can also teach you (and your friends) in your own kitchen.

The four hour Nourish workshops conclude with a delicious gourmet meal. Two hour morning or evening classes include tastings and a light meal. Participants are given printed recipes, information about ingredients and nutritional principles, shopping and supplier lists, and some samples of the foods to take home.

Upcoming Classes:

Nourish has been quiet over winter while Melanie recovered from a back injury, but we are looking forward to enjoying a busy summer. Nourish's Living Gluten Free workshop series is ongoing, with workshops for those wanting to enjoy the best of healthy gourmet fare and also Everyday Gluten Free mini workshops, with great recipes and ideas for being gluten-free and organic on a shoe-string.

The Southern Seasons workshop series continues with workshops designed to inspire you to cook in tune with the seasons, when produce is at its nutritional peak, with the power to bring you into greater balance with your climate and surroundings. Be treated to a delectable feast of seaonal fare and go away inspired with refreshing and innovative recipes utilising the simple, time honoured philosophy of eating the nutritionally optimal, flavoursome foods of the season. Every second workshop is vegetarian, including vegan options.

All Nourish classes are Allergy Aware, catering for gluten-free and/or dairy-free and/or nut-free and/or soy-free and/or egg-free and/or low glycaemic index diets, etc. Classes can be individually tailored to the requirements of participants. Vegetarians and vegans are also catered for.
