For the majority of my working life I have enjoyed working in public health nutrition…..this has allowed me to do what I love - translating the skills I learnt while training as a nutritionist, into a form that is easily blended into the lives of busy families. After some time I felt there was something missing in my kit of tools to do this. For food to be healthy it must be eaten (obviously!), and for food to be eaten it should be delicious and enjoyed with those we love to be with. So, more recently I have completed a year of chef training – which I would thoroughly recommend to any foodie! Combining nutrition with all those ‘secrets from the chef’s kitchen’ has been the key to turning the nutrition theory into ‘real life’ – cooking beautiful food, doing this within a budget, enjoying eating together, and keeping it nutritious and delicious.
Nourish has been the vehicle for this to happen. Our philosophy is to make sure the foods that you eat the most are good for you! The key for us is balance – plenty of nutritious foods and regular activity, ensuring you include foods that you enjoy. On a more personal note, at home I enjoy cooking fresh and nourishing food. I love to get a bargain and am a bit nutty about running the home kitchen like a restaurant – in the way that it is planned well ahead – NOT that I am a short order cook!!! I live with my husband and three teenage boys (we are the standard blended family so some nights we have a full house, sometimes not!)
